This is an excellent indoor competition at Lee Valley. The athletes compete in an amazing 200m indoor track against athletes cross the South East.
Over the years many WADAC athletes have attended this event and it has proved to be one of the most popular events. Last time we attended there was a parent’s race against a retired GB athlete!
The events are 60m hurdles, 60m, 200m, 600m, long jump, javelin (turbo one plastic), high jump and shot put.
The children choose up to three events and score points depending on their time or distance.
The fee is £18.50 and entries open on 1 or 2 February. (The website says both dates). You need to book directly with the event and then let me know if your child is attending. Depending on the numbers going, we can then have a think about coordinating travel. The main thing is to book asap as the event gets sold out quickly. In previous years we have organised a coach to take the athletes and parents but this will incur an extra cost if we do it.
It is open to year 3 to year 7 children.
Medals awarded by a top GB athlete and there are plenty of opportunities to take photos.
The events start at 12.30 but the athletes should arrive at 11am to register.
