The glorious Welsh Castles Relay is fast approaching! Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June 2011.
The Relay starts at Caernarfon Castle on the Saturday morning, and after 20 stages over two days ends at Cardiff Castle on Sunday afternoon.
The stages are between 8.5 & 13.5 miles
(you only run one stage each) and they start at a set time (no batons to pass, sorry). It's run mainly on road and the support from WADAC and all the other teams is amazing.
Some people travel up for just one day, but the vast majority leave Winchester on the Friday morning, have ice cream in Betws-y-Coed on the way and a meal together in Caernarfon on the Friday night.
Most people camp, but you can opt for a bit more luxury if you prefer. It’'s a great social weekend, and friends and family are welcome.
Most members who have run at Welsh Castles want to run year after year, but there is always room for new people to join the team(s), all standards of runners are welcome - this is a weekend of fun, and that is always our priority.
The more people we have, the more teams we can put forward. Last year we had a Ladies and an Open (mixed) team and had a fabulous weekend (40 WADAC vested runners!).
The entry fee has to be paid to the organisers by the 4th of March, so we need to know who is committed, in order that we can decide how many teams to enter. If you don’t (or later can't) make the team you'll get your money back (up to 2 weeks prior to the event).

If you would like more information about The Welsh Castles Relay just ask at the club an you’ll have lots of people being very enthusiastic and excited!
