The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Barry Lipscomb and Winchester & District Athletic Club are pleased to announce the inaugural “Mayor of Winchester Charities 9.7k Multi-Terrain Run, Walk and Children’s Races”, as one of the final major fundraising events of the Mayoral year, which will offer something for all ages and abilities.

The three charities are:

  • Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance
  • The Rifles Care for Casualties Appeal
  • Winchester Cancer Research Trust

All proceeds to The Mayor of Winchester’s Charities:

This scenic, moderately challenging and mainly off-road 9.7km (approx) multi-terrain run/walk will take the participants alongside the Itchen Navigation, around St Catherines Hill, across the M3 (by bridge!), following the marked trails to cross the Morestead Road and continue along the old Anglo Saxon route to Chilcomb before heading along the South Downs Way to Highcliffe and the welcoming sight of the finish line on the new Winchester Sports Stadium running track.

This is a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for these very worthwhile charities and, in this Olympic year, make the day a community and family based occasion
