Men capable of sub 63 minutes for 10 miles and women capable of sub 70 minutes.
Athletes at the top end of this level can sometimes get an elite place from the GSR organisation....if you think you might qualify please ask them !

Thanks to the fine performances of WADAC athletes in the Great South Run 2015 WADAC won the Club Challenge at that event as well as the EA 10mile championships for both men and ladies. Our prize for winning the Club Challenge included a number of club places for this years event, the Morrisons GSR2016 These places are free to members and will be allocated by a ballot that will be drawn at the Awards Night on 20th March 2016. The GSR2016 itself will take place on Sunday 23rd October 2016 and will again include the EA 10mile championships.

All members aged 18+ wishing to participate in the draw are invited to register their interest using the registration process below.

The Club Challenge will continue in 2016 and offers us the opportunity to win more free entries, cash prizes towards club development and the ultimate prize of a trip to the Great Ethiopian Run on the 20th November 2016. We would of course like to do well again so the ballot process will have some weighting towards our faster athletes and towards those athletes who took part in GSR2015.

Members should note however that public registration for the GSR is already open and it is a large public event that is regularly oversubscribed. We need at least 7 men and 7 ladies to make up a team for the Great Club Challenge so if you want to be certain of getting a place you might like to go ahead and register directly.....to have a chance of winning the Club Challenge we need as many Black & Gold vests out there as possible. You might also like to clear your diary around 20th November just in case we do win those places in the Great Ethiopia run !

ATHLETES ARE REQUESTED TO REGISTER AS FOLLOWS:

firstly our better athletes are encouraged to try and secure an elite place in the race directly from the organisers
secondly please enter in only one category from:
- 2015 participant
- faster athlete (but unable to get an elite place)
- other member OVER 18 wishing to take part in
GSR2016
if you are lucky enough to qualify in more than one category be assured the system will spot that and include you in as many hats as you qualify for !

Ideally most of the winners will be at the awards evening on 20nd March to see the outcome but winners will be notified by email shortly after the awards evening.
